Joseph C. Nutter [Keyser]

Joseph C. Nutter, 98, of Rt. 6, Keyser, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at the Heartland of Keyser Nursing Home.
Born on Oct. 18, 1909 in Shaw, W.Va., he was a son of the late Parker and Margaret (Eversole) Nutter. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Nutter was retired as a watchman and in the maintenance department with the WV Department of Highways and was a member of the Fountain Independent Assembly of God Church.
Surviving are his loving family, his wife of 64 years, Catherine N. (Virts) Nutter; one son, James Joseph Nutter and wife Jean of Keyser; two grandchildren, Julie Oliver of Washington State and Jami Jo Jones and husband Darron of Cumberland, Md.; seven great-grandchildren; and an extended family which includes several sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Fountain Independent Assembly of God Church on Sunday, May 4, 2008 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Theodore Hartman officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 p.m. until the hour of service at 3 p.m.
Interment will be in Cabin Run Cemetery, Keyser.
The Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements.
