MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Evangeline “Vange” Ours, 82, of Moorefield, and formerly of Petersburg, W.Va., died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008 at her home.
She was born July 25, 1926 in Grant County, W.Va., and was the daughter of the late Thomas L. Hall and Emma E. (Evans) Hall.
Preceded in death by her husband, Harman M. Ours on Dec. 31, 1976; one son, Harman Junior Ours; one daughter, Mary Lynn Patch; and two sisters, Margaret Bladen and Eleanor Fashion.
Mrs. Ours worked for Allen’s Drug Store and later Judy’s Drug Store in Petersburg. She was also a waitress for Lindy’s Restaurant in Petersburg.
Surviving are two sons, Gene A. Ours of Moorefield and Roger L. Ours of Cleveland, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Debbie Borror, Russell Nash, Donna Jean Powell, Shay Millwood and Leigh Jackson; six great grandchildren, Mandy Markwood, Kelly Powell, Brittany Powell, Morgan Millwood, Andrew Millwood and Callie Millwood; three great great grandchildren, Crystal Schetrompf, Zane Schetrompf and Ranson Markwood; one sister; Betty Good of Winchester, Va.; and one brother, Thomas Hall of Bunker Hill, W.Va.
Mrs. Ours requested that she be cremated and there will be a private family burial in Maple Hill Cemetery, Petersburg.
Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society or charity of choice.
Schaeffer Funeral Home, Inc., Petersburg, is in charge of arrangements.
