ANNAPOLIS — Kenny Harvey, 12, Oakland, is one of the 15 lucky anglers who caught tagged fish during the second week of the 2nd Annual Maryland $1,000,000 Fishing Challenge: The Return of Diamond Jim.

Kenny Harvey was fishing with his grandfather when he caught a rainbow trout in the Youghiogheny River on June 9. His mother said he skipped basketball camp this year to learn how to fish. Kenny’s decision has paid off as he now qualifies to win $1 million.

“I didn’t know what the tag on the fish was for but we were excited after we read the tag and called the phone number,” Harvey said.

When asked what he’d do with $1 million, the soon-to-be 7th grader from Southern Middle School said, “I’d probably, being that I’m 12 years old, spend a little but have to save some for my future.”
