CRESAPTOWN — Levi Ours scored three of his four goals in the second half to lead Calvary Christian to a season opening 6-4 win over visiting Cumberland Valley Tuesday evening in a Mason-Dixon Christian Conference match.

Alexander Rosenbaum and Conrad Bender scored two goals for Cumberland Valley.

The teams went back-and-forth in the first half, which ended tied 3-3. Rosenbaum put Cumberland Valley on the board just two minutes into the match, but Calvary’s Jordan Sagal answered two minutes later on an assist from Dustin Snow.

Rosenbaum put Cumberland Valley on top again, 2-1, by scoring in the 15th minute, but Ours scored on a Brandon Kendall assist four minutes later for the Eagles.

Sagal gave Calvary its first lead with an unassisted goal at the 29-minute mark. Bender tied it with an unassisted goal of his own to make it 3-3.

Ours gave Calvary the lead for good 10 minutes into the second half, and made it 5-3 by scoring on Sagal’s assist at the 20-minute mark.

Cumberland Valley’s Bender cut the score to 5-4 with 15 minutes to go, but Ours helped seal the Calvary win by scoring on another Kendall assist, making it 6-4 at the 34-minute mark.

Calvary goalkeeper Ryan McKenzie finished with four saves. Logan Carey had six for Cumberland Valley.

Calvary plays Heritage in another conference match on Thursday at 4:30.
