RAWLINGS — Northern’s Austin Doerr fired an even-par 35 to lead the Huskies to victory over Southern, Mountain Ridge and Allegany Tuesday in a high school golf quadrangular at the Fore Sisters Golf Club.

Camen Feller added a 42, Jeff Bittinger a 43 and Adam Warnick a 45 to round out the balanced Northern attack.

Billy Gindlesberger and Evan Friend shot 38 to lead Southern while the Miners’ Tyler Whitaker shot 40 and Devin Storey shot 54 to lead Allegany.

Allegany’s final match is today against Mountain Ridge and Fort Hill at Rocky Gap.


Moorefield takes quadrangular

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Claude Drummond’s 36 was the low for all golfers, and along with Quincy Fraley’s 38 led Moorefield to a first-place finish Wednesday in a four-team match at Valley View Country Club.

The Yellow Jackets finished with a score of 164, with Petersburg second at 178, followed by Keyser with 195 and East Hardy with 235.

Seth Thompson led the Vikings with a 38, Kiesha Coleman paced the Golden Tornado with a 44 and East Hardy’s low came from Jesse Cook at 54.

Tucker County, Northern and Moorefield will all play today at Canaan Valley Golf Resort. Keyser will compete in the Class AA regional meet on Sept. 27 at Cacapon Resort State Park.
