SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Alexis Kimmell went 4 for 5 and Fort Hill jumped on Frankfort early and cruised to an 8-3 victory Tuesday afternoon at Frankfort.

Kimmell belted a double and three singles, scored three runs and drove in two more in leading the Sentinels (5-1, 4-0 AMAC).

Shania James and Michala Garrison doubled. James scored two runs.

Autumn Dishman went 3 for 4 with three singles and an RBI to lead Frankfort (1-5, 0-2). Alyssa Lantz had two singles, two runs scored and an RBI and Ashley Noah went 2 for 3 with a pair of singles.

Fort Hill scored two runs in the first inning and four in the second to build a quick 6-1 lead. Kimmell singled and scored in the first, doubled in two runs in the second and singled and scored in the fourth.

Frankfort got to within 6-3 with a two-run third, but the Falcons stranded runners on second and third in the inning and left the bases loaded in the fifth.

Sierra Minnick got the win, scattering eight hits and striking out five without walking a batter in a complete-game effort.

Frankfort’s Sarah Appel allowed only four hits in five innings of solid relief work.

Frankfort plays at Keyser today, with the jayvees playing at 4:30 and the varsity at 6.

The F Club Classic is Saturday at Long Field with Fort Hill hosting Southern, Somerset and Bishop O’Connell. Games will start at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m.

CRESAPTOWN — Ashleigh Eisentrout had four hits and seven RBIs for the day as Allegany swept Hampshire in an Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference doubleheader at Carl Belt Field.

In the opener, Eisentrout tripled, singled and drove in three runs as Allegany collected eight hits and took advantage of nine bases on balls.

Chantelle Collette doubled, singled and knocked in two runs, Tori Bohrer had two singles and four RBIs and Courtney Landis doubled and singled.

Elizabeth Hose doubled and had two RBIs for Hampshire.

In the second game, Eisentrout doubled, singled and knocked in four runs. Tallia Logsdon smacked three singles and had two RBIs and Collette had two singles. Bohrer pitched all five innings and allowed four hits for the win.

Brittany Kesner had a double and an RBI for Hampshire.

Allegany (3-2) will host Friendship Academy in an Easter Tournament doubleheader on Saturday at noon at Belt Field.

Hampshire (2-5) visits Martinsburg today at 11 a.m.

Pendleton    0

BAKER, W.Va. — Winning pitcher Jodie Funkhouser singled twice and knocked in a run as East Hardy made short work of Pendleton.

Jade Foltz also singled twice and Morgan Mongold had a double and three RBIs in the three-inning game.

Funkhouser allowed only one hit and struck out five.

Brittany Huffman singled for Pendleton.

East Hardy (3-1) hosts Berkeley Springs on Thursday.

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Lexi Dolly smacked a double and two singles and Brooke Puffenbarger homered and doubled to power the Fort Hill jayvees to a win at Frankfort.

Skylar Barbe added a double for Fort Hill (3-3). Jaden O’Neal got the win with a two-hitter and three strikeouts.

The Sentinels will host Somerset, Southern and Bishop O’Connell in the F Club Jayvee Classic on Saturday at Riverside.
