KEYSER, W.Va. — Juan Florres scored unassisted at 15:21 of the second half to lift the Potomac State Catamounts over Anne Arundel, 2-1, in men’s JUCO soccer action Thursday at Potomac State.

Riccardo Murphy put the Cats on the board first at 25:18 of the first half on a goal assisted by Teddy Thompson. Gianni Maruggi tied the score for Anne Arundel at 18:30 of the second half on a goal assisted by Burnell Dailey.

“Anne Arundel was coming off a win over Southern Maryland, which is a Division I school,” said Potomac State head coach Ray Kiddy, “so this is an overall good win for us. Our kids really stepped up and got themselves a quality win.”

Both teams had nine shots on goal. Mike Lamb had eight saves in goal for the Catamounts, while Ryan Santos had six for Anne Arundel.

Anne Arundel (3-1) held a 6-2 advantage in corners.

Potomac State (2-0) will visit Salem International University Saturday at 12:30 p.m.
