OAKLAND — Devan Hamrick and Josh King both won by pinfall for Southern Wednesday evening during a 60-15 win over Hyndman.
Hamrick, at 106 pounds, and King (126) were the only two Rams to collect their wins by pin, but Austin Shaffer (120) earned a technical fall with an 18-3 score, and Justyce Fulmer won a major decision 11-4 at 152 pounds.
Dalton Copper, at 182 pounds, won a 3-1 decision for one of Southern’s 11 wins.
For Hyndman, Jake Bennett (195) and Brandon Greise (285) won with a pin, and Tanner Clites (113) won a 9-8 decision.
Southern opened the season with a pair of wins on Saturday — beating Oakdale 48-20 and Allegany 63-12. Shaffer, King, Tanner Massey (145), Seth Kisner (170), Corey Horner (182) and Keith Chapman (285) all had pins in the win over Oakdale. Hamrick, George Zimmerman (113) and Brian Rinker (220) all won decisions.
Seven wrestlers scored pinfalls against the Campers with Hamrick and King getting another. Erik Fike (138), Fulmer, Kisner, Cooper and Marcus Tichnell (285) also got pins. Will Foulke (160) won a decision.
The Campers’ Hunter Wilhelm (220) won by pin, while Christopher Stosick (145) and Aaron Lancaster (182) won by decision.
The Rams are 3-0 and will wrestle on Monday at Northern along with Frankfort.
