Streets lifts Keyser over Berkeley in 64-63 thriller

— KEYSER, W.Va. — Ryan Streets scored the last five points for Keyser, including the game winner with two seconds left to lift the Golden Tornado over Berkeley Springs, 64-63, Friday evening at Keyser High School.

Streets finished with a game-high 23 points getting 14 in the fourth quarter as the Tornado rallied from a 49-42 deficit after three periods for their third victory.

He tied the game with his third three-pointer and then, after a free throw by Berkeley’s Michael Kearney, hit the game winner.

The Indians led 20-10 after the first quarter but Keyser battled back with a 20-7 second quarter to take a 30-27 halftime lead. Josh Hoban scored seven of his 13 points in the quarter.

Kearney led the Indians with 22 points. Brandon McCumbee added 17 and Chris Kees scored 11. Both Kearney and McCumbee had three three-pointers out of the Indians’ seven.

Malik Harper, Hunter Kasmeier and Ryan Kunis combined to score 21 points for Keyser.

Keyser won both the junior varsity and the freshman games. Amonte Turner scored 13 in the 44-35 jayvee win and Camden White led the  6-0 freshmen’s 59-37 victory with 17 points. Ellison Courtney, Caden Staggers and Andrew Liller each scored eight points.

Keyser (3-3) hosts Allegany on Tuesday in a tripleheader beginning at 4:15 p.m.
