Mountain Ridge golfers edge Keyser by single stroke

— RAWLINGS — Mountain Ridge beat Keyser by one stroke to take a five-team high school golf match Tuesday at the Fore Sisters Golf Course.

Fort Hill’s Pete Jackowski was the individual winner with a 39.

The Miners’ finished with a 190 to Keyser’s 191. Fort Hill finished third at 198 followed by Allegany with 206 and Frankfort with 220.

Keyser’s Matt Landes had the next lowest round with a 40. Mountain Ridge’s Jacob Timney finished with a 43, and teammates Justin Wilson shot a 45 and Hallie Shoemake and Alex Beeman each finished with 51s.

Keyser’s Travis Smith shot a 48, Logan Stanislawczyk had a 49 and Zach Freeburn 54.

Bryce Trezise led Allegany with a 44, Fort Hill’s Josh Lutton had a 47 and Frankfort’s Jake Phares and Allegany’s Andrew Brust had 48s.

Frankfort and Mountain Ridge. along with Northern and Southern, visit Keyser today at Polish Pines for a 4 p.m. match. Fort Hill and Allegany will join Mountain Ridge on Thursday for a 4 p.m. match at Maplehurst.

 

BW wins quadrangular

FROSTBURG — Bishop Walsh defeated Mountain Ridge, Allegany and Fort Hill in a quadrangular match at Maplehurst Country Club on Monday.

BW had a team score of 188. Mountain Ridge was second with 196, followed by Allegany with 197 and Fort Hill with 199.

Mountain Ridge’s Jacob Timney was the low medalist with a 42. Fort Hill’s Josh Lutton was second with a 43.
