CRESAPTOWN — Billy Reams’ three hits, including a home run, lead the Oakland Oaks to a 15-1 clobbering of the Cumberland Orioles in the first game of a best-of-three opening round playoff series at Bel Air Field Saturday.
Scott Cooper threw all nine innings for Oakland (14-10). He allowed just five hits, with the only run for Cumberland (10-14) coming on a ninth inning, lead-off homer by Cody Jeffreys.
Cody Humberson singled three times, Cody Toothman singled twice and Cam King doubled, all for Oakland.
Games two and three (if necessary) of this series will be today at Southern High School at 1 p.m.
The winner of the series will advance to the finals to play the either the Tri-State Titans or the West Virginia Power.
