Allegany routs Keyser, 83-51

Campers capture AMAC crown

CUMBERLAND — Bryce Nightengale led a balanced scoring attack with 23 points with four other Campers following him in double figures during No. 1 Allegany’s 83-51 win over Keyser that clinched the Appalachian Mountain Athletic Conference championship.

Nightengale finished the afternoon with nine field goals and three foul shots and made it a double-double by clearing 10 rebounds. Darquel Jesse scored 15 points and had six rebounds, Darick Kerns scored 12 points and Trenton Eirich finished with 11, four rebounds and three assists. Mario D’Atri led the team with 11 assists and four steals to go with four points. Colton Sivic was the fifth Camper in double digits with 10 points.

The win keeps Allegany undefeated in the AMAC at 10 and guarantees them the outright conference championship. Its the second straight year that Allegany has won the conference title after sharing the honor with Bishop Walsh last year.

Keyser was led by Malik Harper’s 16 points. Ryan Streets added nine more.

Sage Dye scored 22 points in Allegany’s 65-36 jayvee win. Jason Copman added 18 and Carson Imes got 12. Quentin Peck had 18 for the Golden Tornado.

The Campers (14-1) have won 10 in a row since suffering their only loss. They look to finish off a perfect season in the City when they host Bishop Walsh on Tuesday. Keyser (5-7, 2-5) is at Hedgesville on Tuesday.

Trinity 91, Union 57

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Trinity Christian scored 29 points and had an 18-point lead during the first quarter as the Warriors walked away with a convincing win against Union on Saturday afternoon.

Christian Griffith scored 19 points, Matthew Dlugos scored 14 and Christian Hawkinberry added 12 in the win.

The Tigers shaved two points off of the 29-11 lead at the end of the first quarter to trail 48-32 at halftime. The Warriors took off again in the third and led 74-45 at the buzzer.

Travis Murphy had a game-high 27 points on seven field goals and 10 of 14 shooting at the free-throw line. Tyler Seabolt scored 14 points.

Union (4-8) is at Calvary Christian on Monday at 7:30.

Alco freshmen win

CUMBERLAND — Logan Milburn scored 22 points, Tyrae Barmore had 15 and Sean Rhodes 12 to lead Allegany to an 86-15 win over Southern in freshman action Saturday afternoon.

Kristian Robinette added 10 points and Jaden Jessie and Triston Eirich had seven as every Camper scored.

Allegany visits Hollidaysburg (Pa.) on Wednesday at 3:30. Southern hosts Preston on Monday at 7 p.m.
