CGSA registration today at Roy Rogers

CUMBERLAND  — The Cumberland Girl’s Softball Association will be conducting registration today from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Roy Rogers Restaurant.

Anyone who registers at this time and has all the necessary forms completed and fees paid will receive a $10 discount. A percentage of all sales at the restaurant goes to the CGSA.

Keyser softball sign-up dates set

KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser Girls Youth Softball will hold sign-ups on Saturday and Feb. 2, 9 and 16 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Keyser Primary Middle School.

Girls ages 6 to 16 are eligible. Players must bring a copy of their birth certificate to the sign-up. A registration fee is required.

athletes honored

YORK, Pa. — Frostburg State junior Morgan Carroll and sophomore Chris Rickell were selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Women’s and Men’s Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week.

The duo were both named the league’s Field Athletes of the Week after strong efforts in the high jump.

At the Marietta Open No. 1 on Saturday, Rickell won the men’s high jump (1.80 meters) while Carroll cleared 1.55 meters and took second place in the women’s high jump. She was just 0.03 meters shy of an ECAC qualifying mark.

Frostburg State returns to action at the Bison Open & Multi at Bucknell on Friday and Saturday.
