FSU’s Francillon finishes third at Ursinus Pentathlon

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. — Frostburg State sophomore Devin Francillon finished third at the Ursinus Pentathlon on Wednesday.

Francillon earned 2,760 points and finished 69 points ahead of Andrew Furst. James O’Connor of The College of New Jersey won with 3,307 points followed by teammate Jon Wright with 2,852.

There were 15 competitors.

Francillon started slow, but rebounded as the day went on. After taking eighth in the 60-meter hurdles (10.04) and seventh in the long jump (5.53 meters), he posted three straight top-fives — taking fifth in the shot put (10.25 meters), fourth in the high jump (1.69 meters) and third in the 1,000-meter run (2:56.05).

The FSU teams will compete this weekend at the Bison Open & Multi at Bucknell and the LVC Indoor Invitational at Lebanon Valley.
