co-player of week
YORK, Pa. — Frostburg State senior guard Christian Jackson was selected Capital Athletic Conference Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week after averaging 32 points per game in two games a week ago.
Jackson had 28 points and eight rebounds in a loss to 12th ranked St. Mary’s, then poured in 36 points, two points shy of his career best, grabbed 11 rebounds, handed out four assists and had three steals in an overtime loss to Salisbury on Saturday. He shot 52.6 percent from the field, including 5-of-8 (62.5 percent) from three-point range in the loss to the Sea Gulls.
Jackson, who was third in the country among NCAA Division III scorers entering the weekend, has 601 points this season and is second on FSU’s all-time single-season scoring list. He is averaging 26.1 points per game and needs 66 more points to break the FSU record held by Eddie Rutledge (1985-1986).
