Eagles capture Appalachian LL title
FROSTBURG — Cameron Bratton hit a home run and two singles and earned a shutout victory to lead the Cresaptown Eagles Giants to an undefeated season and the Appalachian Little League Major Division championship with a 12-0 win over Weimer Automotive Wednesday in Frostburg.
After winning Game 1 13-0, the Giants cruised to their 22nd victory by sweeping Weimer in the best-of-three finals.
Bratton, who also homered and doubled in the first game, led the way with another long ball on Wednesday. Braiden Askins also had a home run and added a single, Cameron O’Neal hit two doubles, Dustin Copman finished with a double and a single, and Jackson Bauer and Trent Middleton had two singles each.
Brennan Bright doubled for Weimer.
Eagles Pee Wee sign-ups Saturday
CRESAPTOWN — The Cresaptown Eagles will hold sign-ups for pee wee football and cheerleading on Saturday, from noon until 3 p.m., at the Cresaptown Sports Complex at the pavilion by Weber Field.
