Southern track meet moved

OAKLAND — The Southern Invitational Track meet scheduled for Saturday, April 13, at 11 a.m. at Southern High School, has been moved to Mountain Ridge High School.

 

Cardinals to hold Saturday sign-up

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Cardinals of the Pee Wee Football League will hold free registration for football and cheerleading on Saturday, from 5 to 7 p.m., at Roy Rogers Restaurant.

The first fundraiser of season will be handed out at the signup. Players and cheerleaders must be at least 6 years old but not yet 12 by Sept. 1 to be eligible to participate.

PenMar-WV League to meet

RIDGELEY, W.Va. — The PenMar-WV Semi-Pro Baseball League will hold a meeting Saturday at the Ridgeley American Legion at 5 p.m. for coaches and league officials.

Among the topics on the agenda will be details for the fourth annual golf tournament at Rocky Gap on April 20.

The wooden bat league, founded in 1949, includes five teams this season: Tri-State Titans, Oakland Oaks, West Virginia Powerhouse, Cumberland Orioles and a new addition, the Cumberland Rockies, coached by Billy Parish.

The league is still recruiting new teams from all surrounding areas and any players looking for a team for the summer. Hot Stove managers asked to pick up equipment Saturday

POTOMAC PARK — All Hot Stove Baseball managers are asked to pick-up or have their equipment checked Saturday, from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m., at the Hot Stove Complex at the Allegany Fairgrounds.
