Ron Hansel gets

ace on second hole at Maplehurst


FROSTBURG — Ron Hansel scored a hole-in-one Sunday at Maplehurst Country Club. Hansel aced the second hole with a four hybrid for his third career hole-in-one. The shot was witnessed by Pam Skiff.



T-N requesting football statistics

CUMBERLAND — The Cumberland Times-News is requesting football statistics from the head coaches or statisticians of the area’s high school football teams. A list of area leaders will run in Friday’s Scoreboard Page if enough teams report.

FSU’s Chris Jones CAC’s Soccer

Player of the Week


FROSTBURG — Frostburg State senior defender Chris Jones has been selected as the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week after leading the Bobcats to a thrilling comeback victory over Washington and Jefferson.

Jones scored his first two goals of the season on Saturday against W&J, including the game-winning goal with only 50 seconds left in regulation to propel the Bobcats to a 3-2 win.

Jones is currently tied for eighth in the CAC with two goals, and tied for 12th with five points.
