Burdock, Mann lead Union past Paw Paw

CONFLUENCE, Pa. — Colleen Burdock scored 20 points and Destiny Mann scored 13 to lead Union over Paw Paw in the second round of the Turkeyfoot Holliday Tournament Saturday.

Union outscored Paw Paw 15-5 in the second quarter to break the game opening after trailing 6-4 after one.

Paw Paw was led by Belle Harrold with 15 points and Shiann Groah with 12 points and 21 rebounds. Alivia Snyder scored nine.

Union (3-4) will host East Hardy Thursday. Paw Paw (2-5) will host Hancock Friday.

 

Frostburg Elks Hoop Shoot Jan. 11

FROSTBURG — The Frostburg Elks will conduct their local  “Hoop Shoot” competition on Jan. 11, 3 p.m., in the Mountain Ridge High School gymnasium.

Competition is open to all boys and girls ages 8 to 13, as of April 1, 2014.

Contestants must be residents of the tri-state area. Local winners will advance to district competition.

 

Mtn. Ridge indoor track practice on Thursday

FROSTBURG — The Mountain Ridge Indoor Track and Field Boys and Girls teams will hold practice on Thursday  following school. The next meet will be Friday in Hagerstown.
