Frankfort rolls, 47-0

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Chris Faidley had a rushing and a kickoff return for touchdowns in third-ranked Frankfort’s 47-0 demolishing of Petersburg at Frankfort Friday night.

Frankfort started its opening drive on its one and proceeded to drive 99 yards in 12 plays, scoring on a one-yard run by Faidley, aided by a 46-yard pass from Gage Shaffer to Thane Cutter.

On the first play of the second quarter, Cole Smith ran 48 yards to set up a five-yard touchdown run by Damian Morgan. Josh McNeil made his second extra point to give the Falcons a 14-0 lead.

After Petersburg went three-and-out, Brady Watson scampered 42 yards to the one on fourth and two. Watson punched it in to make it 20-0 with 6:20 left in the half. On Petersburg’s next possession, they decided to pass from their own one on third and 29. It was intercepted by Tyler Crook and returned for a touchdown to make it 28-0 at halftime.

Faidley returned the second half kickoff 82 yards for a touchdown. The kick was blocked to make it 34-0. Petersburg punted again and Brady Watson returned it to the Viking 29-yard line. Thane Cutter caught a 25-yard pass from Gage Shaffer on the next play to set up a two-yard touchdown run by Smith.

The final score came on the last play of the game when Trent Lloyd ran it in from five yards out to make the final 47-0.
