Traveling softball team sets tryouts
CUMBERLAND — The Queen City Curve, a newly formed traveling softball team, is holding tryouts on Aug. 3 and Aug. 10 at Cavanaugh Field for the 2014 season.
There are four different age groups available. Tryouts for the 12 and under division will be at 9 a.m on both Saturdays. The 4 and under players will tryout at 1 p.m., 16 and under at 4 p.m. and 18 and under at 7 p.m..

be administered today
CUMBERLAND — Physical examinations for students at Bishop Walsh in grades 6-12 will be administered today at the office of Dr. Roy Carls at the Johnson Heights Medical Center. Girls should arrive at 3:45 p.m. and boys at 4:15 p.m. Forms are available at the school office.
Mtn. Ridge golf tryouts Aug. 19-20
FROSTBURG — The Mountain Ridge golf team will hold tryouts on Monday, Aug. 19 and Tuesday, Aug. 20, 4:30 p.m., at Maplehurst Country Club. Any golfer wishing to try out must have a completed physical form and also a signed student participation contract prior to participating. Golfers must come prepared with proper golf attire and equipment.
