Soccer skills clinic, play day scheduled

FROSTBURG — The Allegany Soccer Alliance soccer club is hosting a free soccer skills/clinic play day under the direction of Paul Seegren, a coach from McDaniel College, on Sunday, Dec. 8 at Frostburg State University. The times are for girls ages 13-18 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.; boys ages 9-13, 1 p.m. to  3 p.m.; boys ages 14-18, 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.

This clinic is for any player who may be interested in trying out for ASA in the spring. Forms will be available on-line at www.alleganysocceralliance.com or can be picked up the day of the clinic (a parent must be present to sign medical release form or have it signed prior and brought with the player). Players should bring their own ball, a drink, dark and white T-shirt, shinguards, spikes and tennis shoes. The camp will be held outside weather permitting.

Mountain Ridge softball signups planned

FROSTBURG — The Mountain Ridge District Middle School girls softball team will conduct registration Dec. 11 and Dec. 18, from 6 to 7:45 p.m., in the John Bambacus Community Room of the Frostburg Library.

Any girl currently attending Mount Savage Middle School or Westmar Middle School and in the sixth-, seventh- or eighth-grade is eligible to sign up.
