HAGERSTOWN — Mo Sallah scored the last of his 19 points with two seconds remaining and Fort Hill was unable to match it at the buzzer as Broadfording edged the No. 3 Sentinels 60-58 Monday in Hagerstown.
Sallah’s 19 points led all players, but it was the final two that were the most important. Tied at 58, Broadfording lost control of the ball in the paint, but Sallah scooped it up and dropped in the go-ahead bucket.
Sallah’s shot ended an impressive comeback for the Lions. They entered the fourth quarter trailing 51-39 before outscoring the Sentinels 21-7 over the final eight minutes. Fort Hill led for most of the evening, taking an 18-14 lead into the second quarter and holding a 37-26 edge at halftime.
Fort Hill’s Dalton Gaus scored 18 points, while Travis Bush pitched in by scoring 17. Jarrett Wolfe had eight points.
The junior varsity contest saw Tyler Smallwood score 19 points and Ty Mance 15 in Fort Hill’s 64-36 win. Chris Puffenberger had 13 for the Lions.
Fort Hill (7-6) has its third City League outing Friday when its visits Allegany.

PAW PAW, W.Va. — Three players scored in double figures as Union cruised to a victory over Paw Paw Monday evening on the Pirates’ floor.
Travis Murphy had a double-double with a game-high 22 points on eight baskets, two from beyond the three-point line, and made 4 of 5 from the free-throw line while dishing out 12 assists. Nate Evans finished with 18 points and Jacob Nelson had 17 and led the team with seven rebounds.
Paw Paw was paced by Josh Newlin’s 18 points. River Weese added 15.
The Tigers jumped out to a 21-4 lead after the first quarter, 35-20 at halftime and entered the fourth with a 24-point, 56-32 lead.
Union (9-3) hosts Calvary Christian Academy Thursday evening in a tripleheader with the junior varsity game starting things at 5 p.m. The boys and girls varsity games will follow. Paw Paw hosts East Hardy today at 7:30 p.m.
