Laffey pitches scoreless inning in All-Star game

— DURHAM, N.C. — Aaron Laffey pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the Triple-A Minor League Baseball All-Star game Wednesday evening.

Laffey, pitching for the International League all-stars, pitched the fourth inning with the International League leading the Pacific Coast League 4-0 at the time. The former Allegany High standout faced four batters, allowed one single and struck out one.

The International League beat the Pacific Coast League 7-3.

Laffey pitches for the Washington Nationals Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Chiefs, leads the International League in victories and is 12th in earned run average. He has won his last six decisions, is 11-3 with one complete game and a 2.93 ERA for the Chiefs, who have the International League’s best record at 57-39.
