Allegany softball hosting alumni game Sunday at Carl Belt Field

CRESAPTOWN — The Allegany softball team is holding an exhibition game Sunday that will pit the 2014 Campers against a squad of Allegany alumni.

The game was incorrectly scheduled for Saturday in Thursday sports section.

First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m. at Carl Belt and will be followed by a picnic. All alumni are welcome to play.

 

LaVale Lions hold pee wee football sign-up Saturday

LaVALE — The LaVale Lions pee wee football team is seeking players, ages 6-11, for the coming season and will hold sign-ups Saturday, 2 to 4 p.m., at LaVale Lions Field.

 

Dale Cosner adds to total with hole-in-one at Fore Sisters

RAWLINGS — Dale Cosner got his 11th career hole-in-one on Thursday, acing the 145-yard 11th hole with a six-iron at the Fore Sisters Golf Club. It was his fourth hole-in-one at Fore Sisters since 2004. He had previously aced No. 4 and No. 7, twice. He also has hit six holes-in-one at Mill Creek Country Club, and one at Myrtle Beach.

Thursday's shot was witnessed by playing partners James Powell and Gary Bradfield, and also by Larry Lohmeier, Greg Miller, Tom Clay and Mike Mathews.
