FSU’s Jackson player of week

YORK, Pa. — Frostburg State senior guard Christian Jackson was named the Capital Athletic Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week on Monday.

Jackson averaged 30.5 points and 4.5 rebounds in four games last week. He scored more than 27 points in all four games as Frostburg finished 2-2 with wins over Shenandoah and CAC foe Mary Washington.

Jackson shot 58 percent (11 of 19) and had 29 points as the Bobcats opened CAC action with a 78-72 victory over Mary Washington. On Sunday, he poured in 37 points and had five rebounds in a loss at No. 2 Virginia Wesleyan. His 37-point single-game effort is ninth in the FSU record books and the most since Scott Kerr scored 41 during the 1990-91 season.

Jackson has led the Bobcats (3-4) in scoring in all seven games and leads the CAC in scoring, averaging 26 points per game.

FSU will host Mt. Aloysius on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
