ALLEGANY — Allegany dominated Lenoir (N.C.) 84-60 behind 18 points from Ricky Mosley in the ACM Christmas Classic Friday night.
A normally potent Lenoir offense was stymied in the first half. Allegany asserted itself on the boards and cashed in on many fast break opportunities to lead 44-19 at halftime.
Lenoir was successful on the offensive end in the second half, scoring 41 points. However, the Trojans maintained their intensity for 60 minutes as they closed out a 24-point victory.
“I was very pleased with our effort tonight,” said Allegany head coach Mike Baker. “We played the way Allegany can play.”
The Trojans totalled 26 assists, led by Richard Mann with eight and Chris Day with six. Individually, Mosley added eight rebounds. Alex Brayboy grabbed 13 rebounds to go with 17 points. Davon Williams had 12 points and 11 rebounds.
The only double-digit scorer for Lenoir was Josh Hill with 21.
Allegany (3-9) plays at 4 p.m. today against USC-Salkehatchie. Hagerstown and Lenoir will play first at 2 p.m.
