pummels Preston

CUMBERLAND — Fort Hill won its second match of the season, defeating Preston County, 42-34, Tuesday in high school wrestling action at Fort Hill.

Winning by pin for the Sentinels were Drake Arnold (152 pounds), Joe Turbin (160), Cody Arigo (170) and Tyler Dolly (120).

Fort Hill (2-1) will wrestle this weekend in the Thomas Davis Memorial Tournament at Mountain Ridge.

Four repeat

at 5K Jingle Run

FORT ASHBY, W.Va. — Woody Snoberger, Melody Kentrus, Dennis Mickey and Jane Rossi repeated as overall winners in the eighth annual 5K Jingle Run on Saturday.

With temperatures hovering near 50, Snoberger, of Ridgeley, was the overall male winner with a time of 16:31, followed by Mickey, of Ridgeley, who also won the male masters in 17:32.

Kentrus, of Frostburg, Md., won overall female in 20:30. The female masters winner as Jane Rossi, also of Frostburg, in 24:10.

Proceeds from the race benefitted the Frankfort High cross-country program.
