Grantsville wins pair; Cork’s rolls

POTOMAC PARK — Colton Houser fired a five-inning, two-hit shutout, hit three singles and drove in two runs to lead Grantsville SAL to a 10-0 victory over the Cumberland Lions in Hot Stove League baseball Saturday at Memorial Field.



Dakota Bittinger also had three singles and two RBIs for Grantsville SAL (11-3), which led 2-0 before erupting for eight runs in the fifth. Caleb Broadwater pounded out a double and single and had three RBIs, Noah Werner had a double and an RBI, and Keygan Broadwater a single and an RBI.



Houser allowed only two singles and struck out four for the win. Luke Hamilton and Jay Diehl had the only hits for the Lions.



Grantsville SALwill host Cresaptown Eagles/Riverside Sports on Wednesday at Grantsville Park.



The Cumberland Lions will play Frostburg 1st United on Tuesday at Holler Field at 6
p.m.

POTOMAC PARK — Grantsville SAL took advantage of 14 bases on balls to score six early runs and beat Greg’s Auto Body at Hamilton Field.



Grantsville had only two hits, singles by Keygan Broadwater and Caleb Broadwater, but led 6-0 after the first two innings.



Hunter Mallow got the win with six solid innings, allowing two runs and striking out six.



M. Robinette had an RBI single for Greg’s Auto.

Cork’s Cars 11 Cumberland Kiwanis 1

POTOMAC PARK — Bryson Bittinger threw a twohitter, singled twice and knocked in a pair of runs as Cork’s Cars beat the Cumberland Kiwanis at Memorial Field.



Broc Lohr smashed a double and single and had three RBIs, while Payton Kennedy had three singles and scored two runs for Cork’s. Brandon Mersing hit two singles.



Bittinger struck out nine in the five-inning, complete game win.



Blake Beal doubled for the Kiwanis.



Cork’s Cars (12-2-1) will play Keyser VFW on Monday at Broadford Park at 7 p.m. Cumberland Kiwanis plays Twigg’s Plumbing & Heating on Monday at Hamilton Field at 6 p.m.
