Wilhelm’s hit lifts Riverside

— POTOMAC PARK — Hunter Wilhelm drove in the winning run as Cresaptown Eagles/Riverside Sports defeated KMK Insurance/Outdoor Power 6-5 on Monday evening at Memorial Field.

Wilhelm delivered the winning single in the bottom of the seventh, an inning where Cresaptown rallied back from a 5-4 deficit to score two runs and earn the victory.

KMK jumped out to a 4-0 advantage when Cresaptown finally got on the board with two runs in both the third and fourth innings to tie the game.

A fifth-inning run gave KMK the lead until the final inning.

Trenton Middleton, the winning pitcher, had a double and a single to lead Cresaptown. Wilhelm finished with two singles.

Trenton Eirich had three singles to lead a seven-hit KMK attack.

Cresaptown (11-4) will play Wednesday at Grantsville SAL.

Twigg’s Plumbing     0

POTOMAC PARK — Cumberland Kiwanis defeated Twigg’s Plumbing and Heating behind a combined one-hit shutout from Tristan Gibbs and Ryan Muir Monday evening at Hamilton Field.

Kiwanis (5-11) took a 2-0 lead with a run in each of the first two innings. They rounded out their offensive output with two runs in the fifth and another in the sixth.

Josiah McCaulekey had two doubles while Blake Beal, Brody Evix and Colton Hampton all recorded two singles on  a 12-hit night for Kawanis.

Noah Weber had Twigg’s only hit.

The Cumberland Kiwanis will play Thursday at Salisbury Legion.
