MCHENRY — Brooks Carr homered, doubled and knocked in four runs and Aaron Broadwater and Hunter Hill had three hits as Grantsville Post 214 beat Potomac Valley 14-4 in American Legion baseball Sunday at Garrett College.
Grantsville overcame an early 4-0 deficit in scoring its third straight win. Potomac Valley scored all of its runs in the top of the first inning, but Grantsville got three in the bottom half and took the lead in the second on a three-run double by Carr, who hit a solo homer in the fifth.
Broadwater belted an RBI triple, an RBI single and another single while Hill had an RBI double and two singles for Grantsville, which had 14 hits. Jerad Fike and Keith Chapman doubled and singled.
Austin Reckart got the win and closed with six consecutive scoreless innings.
Bryce Strawderman tripled and singled twice, Corey McDonald had three singles, Trevor Harman an RBI double and Ryan Colaw two singles and an RBI for Potomac Valley.
Grantsville (5-15) plays at Bridgeport today at 6 p.m.
