MT. SAVAGE — The Earl M. Nonnenmann/YMCA Sunday School Basketball League will hold its annual Awards Banquet on April 28, 5 p.m., at the Mt. Savage Fire Hall.
Keith Broome, RPh. will be the guest speaker.
Broome is a graduate of Allegany High School and The University of Maryland School of Pharmacy. He also received his Masters of Business Administration from Frostburg State University in 2004.
Broome is a member of the Allegany Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Allegany! Class of 2011. He resides in LaVale, and is involved with several non-profit organizations.
Broome, a registered pharmacist with more than 20 years of experience, is employed with The PharmaCare Network of Cumberland.
Awards to be presented included there divisions, three playoff champions, one regular-season champion and one playoff champion in the National Division.
St. John’s Lutheran Seniors, in the American Division, finished with a record of 13-1. Holy Cross United Methodist Seniors, in the United Division, finished 12-2. Cresaptown United Methodist, in the Continental Junior Division, was a perfect 14-0.
Regular-season champion St. Paul’s Lutheran was 12-1 in the National Division with The Potters House, at 8-6, being the playoff champion.
Other awards include the Mind, Body and Spirit Award, Down Through the Years Award, Robert E. Shambaugh Coaches Award, “Player Who Wouldn’t Quit” Award, Donald Ray Shambaugh Recognition Award, Loyalty Award: In Memory of “Tommy Hammersmith,” Christopher Michael Shambaugh Memorial Award, plus four individual foul shooting awards, team foul shooting awards and the Christian Spirit Award.
