POTOMAC PARK — Tyler Mayhew tripled home the go-ahead run as part of a four-run seventh inning that gave Casselman Valley an 8-7 win over the Cumberland Moose Wednesday at Memorial Field and evened the Rec Baseball League Championship Series at one game apiece.
Moose built a 7-1 lead though the third inning by scoring four runs in the first, two in the second and one in the third. Casselman scored its first run in the top of the third, and trimmed the lead to 7-4 in the fourth.
In the seventh, Kirk Davis hit a big two-run double before Mayhew tripled to give Casselman its first lead of the night. Mayhew had a singled earlier in the night.
Brandon Miller had three singles and two RBIs in the win.
The Moose got a double, single and two RBIs from Nate Souders, while Vinny Foreman and Zach Steckman each had a single and two RBIs.
The final game of the best-of-three series will be Friday, at 7 p.m., at Memorial Field.
