KINGWOOD, W.Va. — Pat Sines led off the night with a home run and Keith Chapman did most of the remaining heavy lifting to send Grantsville Post 214 to a 12-2 win over Preston Post 56 in American Legion baseball Wednesday night at Preston.
Chapman pitched all nine innings and allowed no earned runs while fanning seven. He gave up two unearned runs in the bottom of the eighth inning, allowing five hits in the process.
Sines gave Grantsville a 1-0 lead right out of the gates with his home run and added two singles to collect three of Grantsville’s 14 hits. Seth Holler drove in three runs in a double and two singles, and Logan Stewart hit a double and two singles. Kyle Rosenberger hit two singles while Chapman, Austin Reckart and Cody Rodeheaver had asingle and two RBIs apiece.
Evan Nolan had two singles for Preston.
Grantsville (8-7) plays a doubleheader at Elkins on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Grantsville-Cumberland game scheduled for today has been postponed.
