CUMBERLAND — The Allegany County Interscholastic Bowling League has the Fort Hill boys rolling to a perfect record of 18-0 to take the Actual Division championship. The girls Actual Championship has Southern taking the crown with a near perfect record of 17.5-.5. by a tie (18-18) with Frankfort last Friday.
Adjusted Division has ties in both the boys and girls for the championship of the league. The Mountain Ridge girls/boys teams will be bowling for the title against the Frankfort boys and the Calvary Christian girls. Mountain Ridge completed their season last week with a record of 12.5-5.5 for both teams.
Frankfort completed their season by defeating Southern last Friday by the score of 24-12 to knock them out of contention for a possible three-way tie for first. Frankfort continue their quest by defeating last night Bishop Walsh in a close match, 21-15, to tie Mountain Ridge. Tim Arnold led his team to victory with a 605 set.
The girls’ Adjusted Division has seen a rotating first place during the last weeks of the season between Hampshire, Calvary Christian and Mountain Ridge. Going into last night’s match with Southern, Calvary Christian was only one win away from having tied Mountain Ridge. Behind the bowling of Julia McMillan (419) and Savannah Chaney (418) sets, Calvary roared to a 28-8 win.
Roll-off matches for the Adjusted Championship will be on Wednesday at White Oaks with the Mountain Ridge boys taking on Frankfort boys. The girls match will be held at The Bowler on Thursday between the girl’s of Mountain Ridge and Calvary Christian.
There is still one match to be rolled for the completion of the season with Hampshire hosting Bishop Walsh at Wilson Lanes on Wednesday.
Fort Hill members of their championship team are Joe Thomas, Darron Warner, Bryce Deter, Trey Bennett, Dylan Bean and Kasey Sullivan who have been coached by Bill Patch. Kasey also has the high average of the league with a 208.
Second place of the boys Actual is Mountain Ridge (16-2) followed by Southern (12-6), Frankfort and Allegany (10.5-7.5), Hampshire (9.5-7.5), Keyser (6.5-11.5), Bishop Walsh (4-13), Lighthouse Christian (2-16) and Calvary Christian (0-18).
Julianna Sharpless, Brooke Spiker, Savannah Rodeheaver, Kristie Swearengen, MacKenzie Swift and Katie Young are members of the Southern’s champions with John Sharpless as their coach.
Girls Actual Division has Frankfort (15.5-2.5) in second place followed by Mountain Ridge and Fort Hill tied at 12-6 followed by Hampshire(8.5-8.5), Calvary Christian (7-11), Allegany (6-12), Bishop Walsh (3.5-13.5) and Lighthouse Christian (1-17).
The Showcase Tournament will be held at Rainbow Lanes on Saturday beginning at 11:30 with the girls bowling first, followed by the boys.
