Allegany sweeps Anne Arundel

ARNOLD — Brandon Miller had four hits and drove in four runs to help Allegany College of Maryland sweep Anne Arundel Sunday afternoon.

The Trojans improved to 5-9 overall and 2-2 in both the Maryland JUCO and in Division II with their 6-4 and 15-3 victories.

In the first game, ACM built a 6-2 lead and held on to beat the Pioneers 6-4. Ryan Redinger went the distance, scattering seven hits off of six strikeouts. Miller had two hits and an RBI as did Reynaldo Adames. Blayne McGuirk also had two hits including a double and two RBIs. Chris Crawford also knocked in two runs.

Joe Eady had two of Anne Arundels seven hits.

The Trojans used a 12-run first inning to shorten their second game victory to five innings, 15-3.

Miller drove in three runs on two hits, Jeff Morgan had three hits driving in two and scoring three times. Cody Doran, Dylan Corl and Danny Metz all had two RBIs.

Winning pitcher Zach Bradfield gave up five hits, striking out seven to improve his record to 2-1.

Weather permitting, Allegany is scheduled to host Finger Lakes (N.Y.) today in a 2 p.m. doubleheader.

Garrett beats Bunker Hill following tough loss to Camden

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Garrett gave up four first inning runs before scoring six over the next two innings en route to an 8-5 victory over Bunker Hill (Mass.) to win the second of two games played Sunday in Myrtle Beach.

Camden (N.J.) edged the Lakers in the first game, 4-3.

Against Bunker Hill, Jason Hepple drove in two runs going 3 for 4 with three base hits. Jonathan Crucey had an RBI.

The Lakers trailed Camden 3-0 early in their early game and battled back to within one run with the tying run on second before a flyout and strike out ended the game.

Michael Bolla belted a two-run double in the sixth that got Garrett back in the game.

Camden’s William Jackson had two hits including a double.

Garrett (5-9) will stay in South Carolina today playing a single game against Alfred State at noon.
