Bohrer perfect against Spartans

Alco opens playoffs today at Northern

CUMBERLAND  — Tori Bohrer was perfect in a five-inning win over Bishop Walsh Tuesday afternoon, leading Allegany to a sweep of the Spartans to end its regular season.

Bohrer fanned seven over five innings, and her offense gave her seven runs in the first inning and three more in the second as the Campers won 10-0. They then opened the second game with 10 runs in the first inning of an 11-0 win that completed the sweep.

Brooke Dougherty doubled home two runs in Bohrer’s perfect game, while Talia Logsdon tripled in another run. Courtney Landis added a double and a single as Allegany finished with eight hits.

Later in the day, Landis delivered three RBIs on a triple and two doubles and Chantelle Collette ripped a pair of doubles to lead the Campers’ 13-hit attack. Logsdon knocked in a run with a double and Addie Eisentrout got an RBI on two singles. Ashleigh Eisentrout hit two singles, and Bohrer had an RBI single.

Alexis Robinette had seven strikeouts in a five-inning one-hitter, allowing a single to leadoff hitter Maggie Mathews.

Allegany (11-7) will play at Northen today in the opening round of the Maryland 1A West Section playoffs.

Bishop Walsh is 0-16 and is scheduled to play Friday at St. James.
