Fort Hill routs Northern, 94-56

— CUMBERLAND — Dalton Gaus scored a game-high 29 points to lead Fort Hill over Northern Thursday evening, coming away with a 94-56 victory.

Gaus converted 11 field goals and was perfect from the foul line in four attempts for his game-high total. Tyler Michael scored 22 points to go along with six assists and four rebounds. Austin Christ added 12 points and had nine rebounds.

  The Sentinels took a 19-point first quarter lead and never looked back — building a 51-27 halftime advantage. Fort Hill matched a season-high for a single game point total for their fourth straight home victory, and seven of the previous eight games played.

Northern (5-14) was led by Jonah Schneider’s 16 points.

The junior varsity game was won by Fort Hill, 53-43. Nathanial Graves scored 19 points, while Ethan York had 11 and Killian Carroll 10. Austin Evans scored 17 points for the Huskies.

Fort Hill (15-5) will play at Bishop Walsh and Northern hosts Mountain Ridge tonight.

CUMBERLAND — Allegany’s freshman basketball team capped off a perfect season with a victory over the Bishop Walsh junior varsity at Bishop Walsh.

The Campers, of Coach Chris Stewart, conclude the season with a 17-0 mark and were led on Thursday by Sean Rhodes with 20 points. Logan Milburn, Jaden Jessie, Tyrae Barmore and Kristian Robinette scored six points apiece.

Bishop Walsh was led by Zach Conroy with eight points.

KEYSER, W.Va. — Keyser upped its record to 13-3 with a victory over Southern Thursday at Keyser.

Keyser was led in scoring by Cade Staggers with 13 points. Matt Liller chipped in with nine points while Justin Burgess added 10 rebounds and Cam White handed out five assists in the winning effort. Grant Owens and Bryce Bittinger each scored eight points for the Rams as they fall to 4-9 on the season.

The teams will meet again today, 4:15 p.m., at Southern as part of a make-up tripleheader.

SHORT GAP, W.Va. — Tyler Shanholtz scored 24 points to lead Frankfort to a win over Mountain Ridge Thursday at Frankfort. Mike McElhenny scored 15 for Mountain Ridge.

Frankfort (7-7) will play Fort Hill Monday in the Mountain Ridge Tournament. Mountain Ridge will play Southern in the tournament.
