CUMBERLAND — Sarah Lowery had a double-double and Alesha Jackson and Troie York also scored in double figures as Fort Hill powered past fifth-ranked Hampshire, 53-37, Monday evening.
The win was the fifth in the last six games for the Sentinels (5-3 overall, 5-1 AMAC), who jumped on top of Hampshire in the first quarter and padded the lead the rest of the way.
Lowery finished with 16 points, 10 rebounds and four steals to lead the way. Jackson added 11 points, York had 10 points and eight rebounds and Sydney Winn eight points and 10 rebounds.
Emilynn Corbin had 11 points to lead Hampshire (6-4, 2-4).
Fort Hill was ahead 22-15 after one quarter, 33-20 at the half and 45-26 heading into the final quarter.
Hampshire won the jayvee game 42-29. Holly Kaiser led the Trojans with 11 points while Raquel Malcolm had a game-high 15 for the Sentinels.
Fort Hill plays at Allegany on Wednesday evening. Hampshire plays again Thursday at Frankfort.
No. 2 Southern 50
Bishop Walsh 19
CUMBERLAND — All nine players scored, with Raeslee Weimer getting a team-high 12 points, as second-ranked Southern stormed past Bishop Walsh.
Kambrie Bosley added 11 points for the Rams (6-1, 4-0 AMAC), who led 29-4 at halftime.
Julia Morin had six points and 10 rebounds for Bishop Walsh (0-13, 0-7).
Southern won the jayvee game 35-25. Molly Merrick had nine points for the Rams and Maggie Mathews had 11 for the Spartans.
Southern will host unbeaten Mountain Ridge on Wednesday. BW hosts Moorefield on Thursday.
KEYSER, W.Va. — Sam Hoban poured in 24 points and Lexi Carr added 15 to carry Keyser past Petersburg.
Hoban hit eight field goals and five of seven free throws to lead all scorers. The Golden Tornado (6-4) bolted to a 16-7 lead after the first quarter and extended it to 32-17 by halftime. It was 49-28 going into the fourth.
Carr also had five assists and three steals.
Brittany Bible made five field goals and seven of nine free throws for Petersburg.
Keyser won the jayvee game 45-39 with Sydney Lyons getting 13 points and Kaitlynn Tichnell 10.
Keyser hosts Northern on Thursday and Petersburg entertains Berkeley Springs on Friday.
Hope for Hyndman 54
Paw Paw 26
PAW PAW, W.Va. — Kadi Cosgrove scored 12 points and Karly Willison had 11 as Hope for Hyndman cruised past Paw Paw.
Sara Leydig chipped in with nine points and Jalissa Snyder and Jessica Ringler had seven for the Hornets, who led 16-8 after one quarter and 35-17 at the half.
Belle Harrold scored nine points and 10 rebounds and Alivia Snyder nine points and three assists for Paw Paw. Shiann Groah added four points and 10 rebounds.
Hyndman plays at McConnellsburg today while Paw Paw will visit at Mountain View Christian on Thursday.
No. 1 Mountain Ridge 42
KEYSER, W.Va. — Mountain Ridge grabbed the lead for good with a 20-point fourth quarter and held off Keyser to remain unbeaten.
Sarah Raines scored 19 points to lead the way for the Miners (6-0, 5-0 AMAC), who led 34-25 after the big third period.
Keyser, which led most of the first half, got to within one several times in the fourth quarter but was never able to get over the hump.
Sam Hoban had 16 points for the Golden Tornado.
Mountain Ridge won the jayvee game 42-25. Lexie Metz had 12 points and Molly Winner 10 for the Miners. Sydney Lyons had nine for Keyser.
Mountain Ridge play at No. 2 Southern on Wednesday.
