— CUMBERLAND — Ricky Mosley scored a game-high 27 points to lead Allegany College of Maryland to a 68-60 victory over Anne Arundel Monday evening at Bob Kirk Arena.

Mosley made 10 baskets and was seven of 11 from the free-throw line for his total. Davon Williams added 14 points and he led the team with nine rebounds. Chris Day and Mosley each finished with five boards.

“We came out strong and took a quick 10-0 lead,” said Allegany head coach Mike Baker. “We played pretty good defense then we relaxed and went away from our principles. We still need to learn to play Allegany basketball for 40 minutes.”

Jaylen Lester and David Abraham combined to score 38 points for Anne Arundel. Lester finished with 20 points and Abraham had 18. Jarvez Pierce added 11.

Allegany led at halftime, 40-31.

The Trojans (4-11 overall, 2-4 Maryland JUCO) hosts Montgomery College Wednesday evening at 7 p.m.

Anne Arundel drops to 10-3.

Catonsville 65, Garrett 64

CATONSVILLE — Quinton Jackson buried a three-point shot in the final seconds of overtime to lift Catonsville past Garrett.

The Lakers (6-6, 2-5 Maryland JUCO) had taken a 64-62 lead just seconds earlier on a three-point goal by YanNick Zanfack. But the Cardinals (5-8, 3-4) got through Garrett’s fullcourt pressure and Jackson hit a fallaway shot from about 23 feet with eight-tenths of a second on the clock.

Jackson finished with a game-high 24 points.

Antonio Butler, especially effective in the second half, had 19 points and Zanfack 13 for Garrett, which led by as much as 48-40 in the second half and by four in overtime.

But the Lakers turned the ball over on an inbounds play late in regulation which led to a game-tying shot by Catonsville’s Rashard Lane, and shot only 6 of 17 from the foul line for the game.

Garrett plays at Harford on Wednesday.
