PSC falls in opener

State’s Reggie Baker scored

47 points,

yet the

CCBC

Catonsville

Cardinals

evened their

season

record at 1-1

with a 109-

104 Region

XX victory over the visiting

Catamounts on Tuesday.

For Potomac State, it was

the season opener under head

coach Justin Anderson. Catonsville jumped out to

an early 10-2 lead and held

that through halftime leading

56-49 at the break.

Potomac State battled back

in the second half as the

teams exchanged the lead

four times before

Catonsville pulled ahead for

good down the stretch.

Desmond Stanback led

the scoring for the Cardinals

with 24 points, Dereck

Burns added 21, including

19 in the first half, Desmon

Shaver had 17, and Willie

McDowell chipped in 14.

Baker led all scorers with

47. Derylton Hill scored 24

points and Marcus Banks

15 for the Catamounts.

Potomac State (0-1) will

play Erie Community College

Friday, 4 p.m., in the

first round of the McDonald’s

Tournament at Garrett

College.
