Mary Washington ousts FSU 3-0 at CAC

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. — Frostburg State had its season

come to end with a 3-0 setback at Mary Washington in the

Capital Athletic Conference Tournament first round Tuesday

evening.

The sixth-seeded Bobcats cap their season with a 7-27 overall

record following the loss to the third-seeded Eagles (17-

11). Mary Washington posted identical 25-11 wins in the first

two sets before closing out the match with a 25-9 win in the

third game.

Aimee Petrides, a sophomore, led the way offensively with

six kills to go along with nine digs. Senior Jamie Frank contributed

nine digs while sophomore Caitlyn Collins registered

nine assists and four digs.

Phillips named Texans interim coach

HOUSTON (AP) — Texans defensive coordinator Wade

Phillips will take over as Houston’s interim head coach and

try to help the team end a six-game skid with Gary Kubiak

out indefinitely after suffering a mini-stroke this weekend

“I’m just keeping the seat warm,” Phillips said.

Offensive coordinator Rick Dennison will take over the

play-calling duties, with input from Phillips, when the Texans

travel to Arizona on Sunday.
