FLORENCE, S.C. — The Potomac State offense once struggled again, mustering only nine hits in two games, as the Catamounts lost to Florence Darlington Tech 10-1 and to Pitt (N.C.) 6-0 in college baseball on Saturday.
In the first game, Darlington Tech scored four runs in the first inning and pulled away with multiple runs in the third and fourth innings.
Sam Vincenzo, who allowed five earned runs in three innings, absorbed the loss for the Catamounts. Connar Bastaich hit an RBI single for Potomac State.
Later, Pitt outhit Potomac State 10-3 in the shutout victory.
Josiel Colon’s belted a triple, double and singe, while Addison Braswell drove in three runs with three singles.
Matt Maiers pitched well, giving up only two runs in five innings, but got the loss.
Potomac State wraps up the weekend road trip with a single game against Cecil College today at 10:30 a.m.
