Anderson named FSU swim coach

FROSTBURG — Frostburg State University’s Director of Athletics Troy A. Dell has announced that Justin Anderson has been named FSU’s head swimming coach following a recent national search.

Anderson arrives at Frostburg after a pair of coaching stints at Trinity College (Conn.) and the University of Mary Washington (Va.).

“I’m extremely excited to be joining the incredible community at Frostburg State University,” said Anderson. “The school has a strong tradition of both academic and athletic excellence, and is located in one of the most beautiful areas in the mid-Atlantic region.”

Anderson served on the Trinity coaching staff as an assistant since August 2011. He helped the Bantams to over 200 personal best times, 29 varsity school records, 12 first-year records and six NCAA provisional qualifying performances.

“I’m excited to build upon the swimming program’s history of excellence at the national level. Frostburg has made 18 NCAA Championship appearances, produced 21 All-American performances and one NCAA Division III national champion. I’m excited to get the program back to that level.”
