CUMBERLAND — Haven Mackie scored three goals and Corbin McGann scored two to lead Bishop Walsh to a 6-1 victory over Hampshire in high school boys soccer play Wednesday at Brother Stephen F. Paul Spartan Stadium.
McGann opened the scoring for the Spartans at 39:27 of the first half on assist by Mackie. Jakob Dale followed at 27:08 with a goal assisted by Ryan Dunn. Mackie followed with the first of his three, scoring unassisted at 26:12, before McGann scored unassisted at 22:30.
Ryan Mowery put Hampshire on the board at 21:09 on an assist from Stephen Pugh to make it 4-1 at the half.
Mackie then scored two goals in the second half, the first coming at 34:01 on a penalty kick, and the second coming at 32:09 on an assist by Spencer Lin.
Bishop Walsh outshot the Trojans, 18-6, and had five corner kicks to Hampshire’s one.
BW goalkeeper Austin Crotts had five saves, while Isaak Lambert had seven and Robert Judy four for Hampshire.
Bishop Walsh (4-0) will play varsity-only Saturday, 11 a.m., at Southern Fulton. Hampshire (1-2) will host Spring Mills Saturday at 2 p.m.
