McCullough leads Rams in quad match

MOOREFIELD, W.Va. — Matt McCullough shot a 42 to lead Southern to a 16-stroke victory during a high school golf match at Valley View Country Club.

McCullough’s round got the Rams down to a score of 177, while Petersburg placed second at 193. The Vikings’ Ryan Colaw matched McCullough’s score by also shooting a 42. Tanner Carr and Nick Martin led Moorefield with a 46 to finish the Yellow Jackets third at 194. Northern shot a team 218, paced by Jess Bittinger’s 44, to finish fourth.

Bryce Friend added a 43 for Southern, and Petersburg’s Brian George a 45.

Southern golfs again today when it hosts Northern, Keyser and Tucker County at Oakland Country Club.
