Meeting set for 8-ball league

RIDGELEY, W.Va. — The Western Maryland 8-ball League will meet on Monday, 7 p.m., at My Place. All teams should have a representative at this meeting.

Calvary beats Grace 5-0 for first victory

CRESAPTOWN  — Calvary picked up its first win of the year behind a two-goal effort from Josh Snyder that led to a 5-0 win over Grace in high school boys soccer action on Friday in Cresaptown.

Snyder got the only goal of the first half, converting a Zack Nelson pass eight minutes deep into play, as the Eagles carried just a 1-0 lead into halftime despite outshooting Grace 19-1 on the afternoon.

Tyler Heavner pushed the lead to 2-0 off of another assist from Nelson. Snyder and Nelson each added an unassisted goal as the Eagles scored three times over the first 10 minutes of the second half. Conor Wilson accounted for the final goal, with Caleb Snyder assisting.

Matt Dillow faced just one shot, but stopped it to record the shutout. Jarrett Choi had six saves in the loss.

Calvary (1-1) is at Cumberland Valley on Tuesday.
