Braddock Warriors sign-up Sunday

CUMBERLAND  — The Braddock Warriors of the CAYFL will be holding registration for the 2013 season on Sunday from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m. in the front of Braddock Middle School.

Each player must bring a copy of their birth certificate along with a registration fee.

Patriots football sign-up today

CUMBERLAND  — The  Patriots of the CAYFL will hold registration on Saturday, 6 p.m., in front of Greenway Avenue Stadium.

Any player living in or going to Washington Middle School in grades 5-8 and are 10 to 14 years of age are eligible.

Former Maryland Center Len­ to

­miss 4-6 months


GAITHERSBURG (AP) — Former Maryland center Alex Len will be sidelined up to six months after undergoing surgery on his left ankle in North Carolina.

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Robert Anderson stabilized a stress fracture in Len’s ankle. The problem that was diagnosed after the 7-foot-1 center left Maryland after his sophomore season to enter the NBA draft.

Len will be unable to participate in all on-court activities leading up to the June 27 draft, according to his agent, Michael Lelchitski.
