CENTERVILLE, Mass. — Frostburg State juniors Kevin Kean and Dylan Shupe were voted to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III South Region first team.
It was the sixth postseason award for Kean, who led the Bobcats in eight statistical categories and is seventh in school history in hits (60) and triples (5) in a single season.
Kean, of Millersville, led FSU in batting average (.423), slugging percentage (.662), runs (44), hits (60), triples (5), total bases (94), walks (21) and stolen bases (14). The Capital Athletic Conference’s Player of the Year led the conference in batting average, on-base percentage (.506) and tied for the league lead in triples.
Kean finished the year ranked 23rd in the nation in batting average, 25th in on-base percentage, 33rd in slugging percentage, 34th in triples and 57th in runs per game. He had previously been named a D3Baseball.com third-team All-American, D3Baseball.com All-South Region first team, ABCA All-South Region, first-team All-CAC and CAC Player of the Year.
Shupe finished 47th in the nation in doubles (16) and 83rd in slugging percentage (.611). He finished the year with a .397 batting average (52 for 131) with 30 runs, four home runs and 38 RBIs.
Shupe had also been named first-team All-CAC and second-team All-South Region catcher.
