Frederick shuts out ACM, 8-0

FREDERICK — Cole Boozel struck out nine Trojans in nine innings and allowed only four hits as Frederick shut out Allegany College of Maryland 8-0 on Thursday afternoon.

Boozel allowed only four singles and worked his way out of three bases-loaded, no out situations that the Trojans put him in. Casey Clauss led the Cougars at the plate with three hits and three RBIs, and Ryan Miller had one RBI on three hits.

Frederick opened with a run in the bottom of the first and extended the lead to 5-0 in the second. The Cougars added two more runs in the sixth and a final run in the seventh.

Dave Ormsby had two singles to account for half of Allegany’s four hits.

The Trojans are 14-21 overall and will host a doubleheader with Catonsville on Saturday at noon.
